Fontinha Porto, Trademark Collection by Wyndham opens today in the historic center of Porto

The emblematic Fontinha area in the city of Oporto gained today a new hotel: Fontinha Porto, Trademark Collection by Wyndham. The new four-star hotel, located in the historic centre of Oporto, between Rua da Fontinha and Rua de Santa Catarina, has opened its doors. This is an urban rehabilitation project resulting from a 14 million euro investment by Mercan Properties, and it's the first Trademark Collection by Wyndham hotel in Portugal.

With a geometric and modern façade and an interior distinguished by a modern and bold style, the four-star hotel has 49 rooms over six floors. The hotel's decor and ambience follows an industrial-chic line, with original artwork and inspiring, upbeat phrases inscribed on the floor.

"At a time when remote work is a model implemented by many companies, we have created a 'workcation' option - a workplace - so that it is possible to escape routine and work in a different scenario, taking advantage of all the amenities of a hotel in your spare time. This is another differentiating characteristic of our projects, always keeping the focus on their quality”, explained Jordi Vilanova, president of Mercan Properties.

In addition to its welcoming atmosphere, Fontinha Bar allows hotel guests to “disconnect” from the rush of the city, while enjoying the gastronomic experiences this space has to offer. The decoration of the rooms, with areas between 21 and 34 square metres, stands out for the combination of neutral tones, images of nature, textured walls and wooden elements.

"Opening the doors of Fontinha Porto, Trademark Collection by Wyndham is a reflection of the confidence we have in the potential of tourism in Portugal. We are aware of the importance that these projects have in job creation, with 80 jobs during construction and 16 new jobs for management, operation of the hotel, and in activities linked to tourism in the city." said Jordi Vilanova, president of Mercan Properties. "This hotel stands out for its location, in one of the most important areas of downtown Porto, where Rua da Fontinha meets Rua de Santa Catarina, thus conveying in the best way the importance that the city has for Mercan Properties," he added.
