Hospitality leaders from across Portugal will gather on March 5–6, 2026, for the 22nd ADHP Congress (Associação dos Directores de Hotéis de Portugal), taking place at the Centro de Negócios Transfronteiriço de Elvas. The two-day program will focus on the sector’s most pressing challenges and emerging opportunities—ranging from team well-being and sustainability to data and artificial intelligence in hotel management.

One of the key moments on the first day will feature Mariano Faz (AHM), who is set to take part in the panel “Atrair o Cliente Local: O Restaurante de Hotel Fora de Portas” (“Attracting the Local Customer: The Hotel Restaurant Beyond Its Doors”). Moderated by Miguel Teixeira (Corinthia Hotels), the session brings together voices from major hotel groups and will look at how hotel restaurants can better win over local residents while also helping diversify revenue streams.

Mariano Faz’s presence signals how central food & beverage strategy has become in today’s hospitality landscape—especially in urban markets where hotels increasingly compete not only with other hotels, but with the city’s wider dining scene. With local demand playing a growing role in restaurant success, the panel will dig into what it takes to build a concept that feels relevant to the neighborhood, consistent in value, and strong enough to bring guests back even when they aren’t staying overnight.

The congress opens on March 5 at 2:00 p.m., followed by the panel featuring Mariano Faz, and continues with sessions on promoting inland destinations, concluding Day 1 with the Xénios 2026 awards gala, in which Joana Gabirra is nominated for Best Revenue Management.
