The Forno da Telha restaurant, located at the historic Quinta do Poço Novo, on the outskirts of Évora, will mark Women’s Day with a special dinner on March 8, in an intimate setting just a few minutes from the city’s historic center.

The dinner will be served as a set menu, priced at 39 euros per person, including drinks. The culinary concept is centered on sharing, with the Alentejo at the heart of the table and the city as the starting point for an evening designed for friends or families, combining traditional cuisine, wine, and relaxed conversation.

The couvert begins the experience with naturally leavened bread, seasoned Alentejo olives, garlic and herb butter, and Forno da Telha’s exclusive extra virgin olive oil. This is followed by three dishes for sharing: cod salad with chickpeas and cilantro, pickled wild mushrooms, and Alentejo-style pork salad.

For the main course, guests can choose between oven-roasted cod with a cured sausage crust, served with a bean stew and seasonal vegetables, or Alentejo black pork shoulder, with traditional migas and glazed vegetables.

Dessert offers two alternatives: thyme-lemon custard with honey and almond ice cream, or poached pear in spices with rice pudding and cinnamon. Drinks included in the menu are still and sparkling water, soft drinks, beer, white and red talha wine, coffee, and tea.

Forno da Telha stands out for combining a space steeped in history—reviving the memory of a former tile-making oven—with a kitchen focused on traditional Alentejo flavors, making this dinner a special option for celebrating Women’s Day in Évora.

In addition to the Women’s Day dinner, throughout the month of March the restaurant will continue its Saturday dinners with live music, featuring Pedro and Mariana Peças, father and daughter, who bring the evenings to life with musical performances and create a special atmosphere at the table.

On Sundays at lunch, Forno da Telha serves the “Almoço dos Ganhões,” an experience inspired by Alentejo’s rural traditions centered around Cozido de Grão served in clay pots, always accompanied by a live Cante Alentejano performance.

Reservations for the Women’s Day dinner can be made by phone or email. Seating is limited.
