Celebrating Casa das Lérias Anniversary: Five Years Preserving the Spirit of Amarante

Casa das Lérias celebrates its fifth anniversary, marking five years of hospitality shaped by the history, traditions, and natural surroundings of Amarante.

Located in the heart of the city, on the banks of the Tâmega River, Casa das Lérias offers a peaceful setting where guests can enjoy outstanding river views and the quiet character of the region. Its outdoor garden and swimming pool further strengthen this connection with nature, creating a place designed for moments of rest while remaining closely connected to Amarante’s cultural identity.

The story behind Casa das Lérias is also deeply linked to the city itself. Before becoming the hotel it is today, the building was home to a traditional local pastry shop known for the lérias, the sweet that would eventually give Casa das Lérias its name. The building also served as a guesthouse, adding an early hospitality chapter to its history.

Its story would later gain a literary connection through the traditional lérias and Fernando dos Reis, son of Alcino dos Reis and a poet. This combination of hospitality, local flavors, and culture remains an important part of the character of Casa das Lérias today. That heritage continues through Café das Lérias, which keeps the tradition alive by inviting guests and visitors to discover this characteristic Amarante sweet and helping preserve a part of the city’s identity.

Five years after opening its doors, Casa das Lérias continues to be highly appreciated by its guests, with ratings of 9.1/10 on Booking.com, 9.6/10 on Expedia, 4.5/5 on Tripadvisor, and 4.7/5 on Google.

This anniversary celebrates not only five years of Casa das Lérias, but also the continuity of a story shaped by the Tâmega River, local traditions, culture, and hospitality. We thank its investors, partners, and teams for their trust and contribution to making Casa das Lérias a welcoming place for everyone who visits Amarante.
