Spa L’Occitane en Provence at Casa da Companhia Introduces a New Massage to Relax the Body and Mind

The massage begins at the feet and slowly moves up toward the head, with broad movements that alternate between different levels of pressure and pauses to help the body relax. This is the new version of the Relaxing Aromachology massage, one of the treatments featured on the menu with which Spa L’Occitane en Provence, at Casa da Companhia, Vignette Collection, celebrates its second anniversary.

The treatment was already part of the spa's offerings on Rua das Flores but has now been renewed with a new combination of movements, rhythms, and intensities, while maintaining its inspiration from one of the rituals that gave rise to the French brand's spas. It is available in 60-minute (€180) or 90-minute (€200) sessions and can be booked by both hotel guests and outside visitors.

The inspiration from Provence is present throughout the spa's concept, from the ingredients used in the products to the aromas and treatment techniques. It was in this French region that L’Occitane was founded in 1976, with the distillation of rosemary. Decades later, the partnership with Casa da Companhia brought this influence to Porto's historic center, with the opening of a space dedicated to facial and body treatments in 2024.

The history of the building, however, dates back much further. Built in the 16th century for the family of merchant Brás Brandão, it was leased in the 18th century by the Companhia Geral de Agricultura das Vinhas do Alto Douro, now known as Real Companhia Velha. Today, the building is home to the five-star Casa da Companhia hotel, part of the Vignette Collection, where the spa is part of its wellness offerings.

The menu is divided into four categories: longevity, regeneration, balance, and vitality. In addition to Relaxing Aromachology, it continues to feature Sleep & Reset, a 90-minute ritual (€200) dedicated to rest, and the Immortelle Divine Secret facial treatment, available for the same duration and price, which combines products containing extracts from this flower with lifting movements and muscle stimulation.

Other options include Almond Detox, a 60-minute massage (€180) that uses almond oil and drainage techniques. Provençal Deep Tissue is designed for those who prefer a massage with firmer pressure, combined with acupressure and stretching, and is available in 30-minute (€80), 60-minute (€150), or 90-minute (€190) sessions.

Those who are unsure which treatment to choose can opt for a personalized facial or body session, developed in consultation with the therapist, with prices starting at €80 for 30 minutes. It is also possible to add 15-minute enhancements (€25), such as a scalp massage or a Gua Sha treatment.

Booking any treatment includes access to the wellness circuit, which features an indoor pool, sauna, and steam room.
