An evening dedicated to fado, Alentejo flavors, and the pleasure of dining together is what Chaparro Alentejano, in Beja, has planned for November 14, 2026. The second edition of the Fado Gala brings back an initiative launched in 2025, once again combining live music and gastronomy in a program designed for those who appreciate Portuguese traditions in a welcoming and convivial atmosphere.

The lineup features five fado singers – Carlos Filipe, Ana Tareco, Joana Luz, Sandra Reis, and Maria dos Santos – accompanied by João Grego on Portuguese guitar, Luís Reis on acoustic guitar, and Gonçalo Cercas on bass guitar. Throughout the evening, the different voices and sounds of the guitars promise to create the perfect atmosphere for a night in which fado takes center stage.

At the table, Alentejo flavors also take center stage, starting with a selection of regional cheeses and cured meats, followed by a choice of two appetizers: seafood açorda or mushrooms au gratin with goat cheese. For the main course, guests can choose between oven-baked cod with a traditional Portuguese cornbread crust, served with sautéed spinach and sweet potato purée, or Garvonesa veal sirloin steak, accompanied by a red wine reduction and wild asparagus migas. To finish, dessert options include quince pudding in anise syrup or fresh fruit. The menu also includes Quetzal wines, water, soft drinks, and coffee.

The connection to Alentejo's identity also extends to the event's partners, including Queijaria Charrua, Salsicharia Santa Bárbara de Padrões, Farrusca – Cooperativa de Criadores de Raça Bovina Garvonesa, and Dourado Distribuição, responsible for Quetzal wines. The participation of these organizations reinforces the appreciation of local products and the connection between gastronomy, producers, and Alentejo traditions.

Priced at €48 per person, including beverages, the Fado Gala is an excellent option for those looking for a different experience in Beja, where Portuguese music and Alentejo cuisine come together in a single event. Reservations can be made by emailing reservas@chaparroalentejano.pt.
